Geez does this guy expect me to pay top dollar for a crusty 3 year old game that didn't sell alot in the first place.

The above is just one example of how stupid iwata sounds.

He kinda is right in the same sense.People like myself do just wait until the price comes down but take a look at gta san andreas. You see iwata if you make quality stuff and or find a nich the fans will come.Stupid.

No you're not. But that's beside the point.

i'm not sure a lot of people here have taken the liberty/time to read the rather extensive interview as I have, but I think Iwata made some very good points, as well as bad.

As he answered this question - the mistake he made was implying that a game shouldn't be lowered in price over time. This is sort of silly. Simple supply/demand economics proves him wrong.
But as tycobb also said, he is sort of right. He knows how the supply/demand law is sort of circumvented and manipulated by customers; When enough people realize that price cuts are fairly static and predictable, it sort of throws off how developing companies would otherwise react to a successful or unsucessful game.
What he was mainly trying to say, though, is that you can't put a price on quality.
For example, I get a much better game experience with a game like, say, starcraft (currently priced below 20 bucks) than I could from a popular xbox360 title (3x more expensive). I would be so bold as to say I enjoy it more than Smash Bros Melee or the Metroid Prime series.

You know though It's always been that way and iwata should know the market by now.I didn't here him complaining when his console was on top but now well...anyways there will always be price cuts and they always were predictable and not just in the games department either.Everything in this world comes down.I predict bluray to come down does that mean people will quit b!**ing about it being so expensive.Nope.

Yeah. I guess Iwata could've made his point without looking ignorant...
eh.

what I did like was his opinion that a game should be priced on it's content, and not the material it is on. (something that sony buyers might feel if the games are 70-80 USD. I doubt they'll be 80 dollars myself, but if it were to happen, you can see my point.
I just hope Iwata doesn't use that as an excuse for making Wii games more expensive than they need to be.

and my bad tycobb. i edited it.

yeah I agree with iwata for the first year. The game should hold it's price for the first year. Then maybe come down.Of coarse then the game may not sell as much and there may be no part 2.

Hey... wait a minute doesn't the gamecube have "player's choice" buget priced titles similar to "platinum hits" and "greatest hits" from ms and sony.

that was out of line for iwata to say especially when his consoule is really based on the cheap gamer, i think he could have found a better way to say that.

I disagree with you all (in a way)...I say this because here are the positive sides, if you buy a f***ing terrible game...you can sell it for more...or even better you can buy the games used and back it up as soon as you buy it so that it doesnt get broken (scratched)...

And by the way...it will still become cheaper as the nintendo guy said (Iwata or sumting like that) once there is a sequel, it will become cheaper...and if the price stays "insane" (still ps3 games are going to be way more expensive...from what I hear) then let the stupid and impatient ppl (no offense) pay to get games at launch therefore making game creators richer therefore reducing its price by introducing a sequel..

P.S.
The games' prices will still be reduced!..just not as fast as its enemy consoles..

*Here is a tip for afterdawn ppl...(do not tell clueless ppl this that way nintendo can get supported...lol)

The tip is as follows:
Your current gen console (ps2, gcn (ngc), xbox) will not be obsolete for another 1 or 2 years...so buy the wii when your current gen console is obsolete...that way console itself and games will be cheaper!

If I insult you...don't get offended...my insults are "friendly insults"...I know this sounds stupid (ridiculous) but I am fet up of writing, "no offense" in my posts...

My Comp: (will add specs later)

So you're giving basic consumers "advice" to an elite tech savvy populus.

That makes sense...
