Hi,
I am trying to use the clevermod "hotswap" method to back up my original 360 games. I have dumped the game on my hard drive using wxripper and have an .iso file. Problem is when I burn this .iso file using Nero or DVD Decrypter the game won't play in my console. And yes I have had my console modded to play back-up games.

I have read the other threads on backing up and have downloaded SS Merger. When I click on "detect" 6 iso's are found for the game (Farcry Predator Instincts) but then when I try to "merge" a box comes up saying ss file does not exist.

THis is the first time I have tried to back up a game and I have gone through 5 DVD-R DL discs already. Can someone please help me????

Can someone also confirm that the "clevermod" method actually works?

Thanks

ooouchh 5 disks...ok so you have yur iso have you merged the ss .bin file with yur .iso? If not go and google ss merger 1.6 and you load yur iso and yur ss and make sure your bitsetting on your dvd burner is to dvd-rom and you cant use Nero the best and easiest way to burn is clone cd

Zippy 255,

Thanks for the reply. Did as you said and dowloaded SS MErger 1.6 but when I insert the ISO and click "detect", 6 iso's are found. The required SS box is red and filled in but the SS MD5 box above it is also red and empty. Do I have to download the .bin for the particular game and insert it in the SS file box???

If so, where do I download the .bin file from??? I have visited http://www.ubclass.org/X360SS/sslist.htm but I can't download the .bin file as I'm not a paid registered user or Rapidshare.

Next step? I'm trying not to get a full collection of 6 coasters...

The SS file that appears in the Required SS File MD5 box at the bottom appears after I have entered the ISO file for the game and clicked "detect". The SS File MD5 above it is still red and empty.

I'm not sure where I find the SS file for the game?

I assume when I have the SS file I put it into the box that says SS file?

Thanks zippy255,

Yes I did have 4 games but one was scratched by my 10 yr old son (he says he didn't do it though!)hence the reason I need to back up the others. Only have 3 games at the moment so the ss .bin for those would be greatly appreciated. These are all PAL versions.

Fifa World Cup 2006
NBA live 2006
Farcry

aim address is name juniorbkrj@aim.com so if possible could you please send through ss codes just for those 3 games.

Thanks again for putting up with my very novice questions...

You are a champion mate. No more scratched disks!! Got home last night and bingo! My backup works fine. The final piece of the jigsaw...the ss.bin file!

Only problem was got up this morning and tried to startup computer and through my pursuit of an answer yesterday I must have downloaded a bug and my computer has been down all day...$60 later to fix it and I'm back on line. Massive thanks for your help. Am trying to back up other 2 games now.

New problem though...Now when reading my NBA Live 06 it says "Cyclic Redundancy Error". From my research this means the disk has already been damaged and the drive is having problems reading it. Any suggestions?

Ignore my last post zippy255. I just kept trying to dump it and it finally worked on the 3rd go.

Thanks again mate, thanks to you all the heartache of the last 5 failed DVD DL has disappeared!

For future reference when I buy a game and need to back it up any advice for where I can find the magical piece of the puzzle...ss.bin file for the game???

Going to buy my young bloke a car racing game and was thinking Need for Speed: Most Wanted? Any other better racing games to suit 10yo?
