Something happened to my system and I can't figure out what it is. Here are the symptoms:
1. When I try to play a burned movie (using DVD Decrypter, DVD Rebuilder Pro, and Nero)on my computer, I get asked what player I want to use, and select Media Player. The window opens up and indicates at the bottom left that the movie is playing. However, the screen remains black.
2. When I try to play an original movie (bought or rented), I again am asked to select the player, and this time it plays, but the picture is not smooth, i.e., it jumps and is erratic.
I have no idea what is causing this. Any ideas out there? Thanks.

Quote:Move on to DVD Fab Decrypter it does the same thing and is also free.
DVDDecrypter does sooooooo much more than just ripping movies to the hard drive, and that's the only thing in common that DVDFab Decrypter has with DVDD. DVDDecrypter can erarse a disk, booktype your drive to DVD-ROM, Demux a DVD into it's audio and video files for rencoding, get drive information, check firmware on your writer, and much much more. I still use it alot with older movies or just add AnyDVD and whaaaaaaaaallllllllahhhhhhh still works just fine.
I do agree that the problem does sound like a codec problem, but also check out your video settings on your video card, too.
Thanxs for the heads up I do remember it doing all those things. Its just been awhile since I have used DVD Decrypter and had forgotten about the other features.
I also still use DVD Decrypter but mainly only to burn images. But thanxs for the heads up to just updating AnyDVD and running through DVD Decrypter. I'll try that next time I back up a movie.
