are there any dvd-rom drives with the same structure as ps2 dvd rom drive and laser.

PS2 lasers are a "unique" make with its own custom Frameware that only Sony DVD Roms have. I.E. If a DVD ROM has a custom made frameware it looks for a specific file. Like the Xbox original DVD Rom its Frameware has it looking for defalt.xbe when a CD/DVD is inserted)
