i want to shorten a XviD file movie and it won't let me... i use vitrualdub and it don't seem to work... any suggestions.

preferable the end where the credits are.. i really don't care about that

i'd suggest that you convert it 1st to an mpeg2 compatible format using either thye converter you use or convert x to dvd.Once you have converted it , if you have TMPGEnc dvd author just load your whole file into the add dvd video function.

Afetr it reads your file you will be shown this screen.



Select the chapter cut edit tab

The next screen is where you can edit the frames out of your movie.



Its really quite easy to use.

what error message or what happens in vdub when you try to cut the end out? are you following the steps correctly....move pointer to beginnign of credits, hit home, drag to end of movie, hit end, then delete, direct stream copy both video and audio?
