on llamma.com they have a kit so you can hook up a hard drive on to the 360 by pluging it in the usb. they said you can put music and pic on it and hear and see them on the xobx put my question is can you put xbox 360 games on the hard drive and play them off there. i have been looking around but still no answeres. as far as i can see it seems it can be done

It doesn't work because the 360 only looks to the dvd rom for games. It's hardwired that way..Until there is a proper chip or softmod for the 360 you will only be able to use an external drive formusic and pictures .

First off you can plug any usb drive in to the 360 and play music or look at pictures off it. The games you couldn't, try to put a .xbe on the flash drive and execute it you wont even see it is my guess. The console checks itself at startup and the drive to make sure all the system files are there and correct (same when a game is inserted at startup) it would be impossible for another drive to run a game unless there was some way to circumvent those checks.

yes microsoft lets you download demos onto your hd... do you think microsoft is going to let you rent a game, and store it onto your hd for you to keep? Come on now.. give us a couple more months to figure out how to do that :)

As of right now it is impossibe to play backups off an external HDD, this hopefully wont be true this time next year.
