God Of WAR Memory Card

I have been using a max memory 32mb memory card from datel to save my ps2 games. I picked up god of war this weekend and the game tells me that there is no memory card found in slot 1. I went on to try another game and it worked perfectly fine. Is there anything I can do to convince the game that the memory card unit is inserted or must I look for another brand of card?

some games have probs with 3rd party mem cards, a few games even fully currupt every file on them. Better off to just get a official Sony memory card and use your 32mb one to backup saves that arent so needed but stil want to keep to.
