Please, I need burning heIp! I can't get any game I DLed to work.

1st I tried burning with DVD Decrypter and CloneCD. I've gotten unrecognized disc most recently with a pre-patched Pal version of MotoGP 2006 on my NTSC 360 with a Verbatim DL DVD+R bunrt with CloneCD. Other errors received include "insert this disc in a Xbox 360" and "open tray after" the disc was read. Those were with Office Depot discs. I only have 2 more Verbatims left so I'm looking for some help before burning. I know about patching the games, but some of these pre-patched games should work right? I already did the firmware hack on my Samsung drive and it's reading regular game so I guess I did that right. Any step by step help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello
I have the same problem but i have the Hitachi drive.
What burner do you have?
I had an LG burner and i bougth a Pioneer 111 and teh games load fine now. When i burned it with the LG burner it gave me the Unrecognized messeage, and now sometimes when it wont load on teh first attempt it says reading and after a few seconds it changes to eject tray. so i give it another try or two and it loads.

LG is perfect with samsung. It must be how you set your bitsetting - you didn't say anything about that when you explained your dillema.
Download DVDinfo... Click on the +rw icon at the top of the screen, and make sure dvd-rom is set to present. there are many tutorials on doing this out there... stop by #fw on efnet for more info.

I downloaded DVDinfo and clicked the RW button on top. I set my bit setting to DVD-ROM. I closed it and then opened CloneCD and burnt with it it. I have a lite-on burner. No where near me sell LG burners, and I didn't want to wait for one online. I can try a Pioneer burner I guess. Since my 360 is booting retail games that should mean I did the hack correctly right?

Lite-on works nicely as well. I think its your PAL patch. There are a couple versions of PAL and Im guessing it was either patched wrong, or you have a uncompatable xbox PAL. Get another backup and see if it works. if both prepatched games don't work, then I'd suggest reflashing your drive.. Then if that doesn't work, get a new burner.

I'll try another back and if that doesn't work I'll reflash my 360. Should I set it back to the original 1st or just reflash with another modified.bin?

take your orig.bin and redit it with hexedit
ctrl + g "4000"
edit > select block "200"
right click copy
open xtreme (original unedited)
ctrl + g "4000"
edit > select block "200"
right click paste.
you can reflash the hacked firmware with this firmware.

i download all my backups from blackcats-games.net and they all work perfectly on my NTSC xbox 360

That's good. But are they offical group rips? The names should be in the info. An can get most ofg the newsgroups. I'm just trying to find one I know is good quickly so I can elimate my rip as being a problem.

depends on your internet speed... i see hitman is heavily seeded right now.. download that (only if you own it!!!), it should take a couple hours.

you cant play a PAL game on a NTSC 360...thats why it doesnt work...download a NTSC backup that should work

I am using a Lite-On 1693S burner. Updated firmware made sure DVD+R DL is dvd rom book setting, patched iso myself using ssmerger 1.6 both lines came up green and i merged the 2. It created the clone cd control image file to burn with. I burned on verbatim 2.4 x @ 2.4 x took about 40 minutes and it will not boot. gives me open tray error. If i get a pioneer 111 burner will this increase my chances or guarantee me playable backups using my 15 remaining verbatim DVD+R DL discs?
any help would be great Thanks alot.

Something i forgot to add. It gives me Open Tray error after attempting to read disc quietly for about 10 or so seconds. What is my problem? happened on 3 dvds i burned showing up as dvd-rom burned at 2.4, 4, and 8 x. same problem. Any ideas??
I am so lost, i have coastered about 8 or 9 dvds now in all.
Thanks for any help. I appreciate it. I will go buy a pioneer 111 if this will solve my problem.

I was surprised to see this one still going. My update is my floppy drive was bad and gave me a corrupt original firmware. Needless to say when I tried reflashing I fucked up my 360 and had to get another one. I did and bought a new floppy drive too. I'm confident I'll get it all working this sunday.

Hi
Any game i have backed up will not boot when i insert them in my Hitahi drive i always get an open try message. I then turn my 360 of and back on and the game will boot without a problem, takes a few more seconds but it always works btw i am using a pioneer 110D and Datasafe discs burnt at 2.4 speed, i have never changed any settings for dvd rom i suppose the drive does it itself.

Hi..I have a question too? :)
I already downloaded Full Auto_NTSC Iso file from blackcats-games..but the size only 3.2GB. First, I merged it with SS.bin (I downloaded too)..and when I merged it with Xbox360 SSmerger, and the video partition "pad with blank (Xtreme Style)".. and I got in SS File MD5 box is Red. Second, I got .dvd file, I burn it with my DVD+R DL with Pioneer DVD burner. When I played it with my 360, it gotten "unrecognized disc". Is there a problem with iso file or anything else?? Please help :)

Hi
Yes i think that game is nuked, if you look at it in clonecd you will not see a layer break, the 360 reads the SS from the second layer, save your self discs and delete it from your HDD.
