When I examine discs made with my LG DR7800 DVD recorder (using, eg, DVD Shrink), everything appears to be duplicated, but I've noticed this in discs made by other machines, so presumably it's a standard feature. Why is this? Doesn't this just halve the recording time &/or reduce the quality?

And when I rip recordings to my PC, do I need to copy both titles?

Any insight gratefully received.

Apologies if this in the wrong place &/or has been covered elsewhere.

Cheers.

Hello there.

I'm not certain I understand what you mean by duplicated but I'm curious. Can you clarify what you're seeing to make you think that?

Thanks

Always use good quality blank media. Verbatim is always a good call. Don't be seduced by those 50-spindles you find in the $2.99 bin at your local car wash! :)

If you have 2 titles on your DVD and they are close to the same length then either...

You have 2 titles if you have 4:3 and 16:9 format on the disc. 1 is standered and the other is widescreen.

You can also have 2 titles if there are diffrent angels on the DVD. This making it appear that it is duplictaed.

I would assume that is what you are seeing when you say it looks like it is duplicated.

the way Kulibar explained himself is very confusing..... but LarryLJE is correct. if there is a different interpretation of Kulibar's question maybe he can explain exactly what he wants to know.

Look at the end credits see if there is a diffrence there. Sometimes they have a diffrent language at the end credits. Allot of times that is where it can be diffrent.

I know there dosent seem to be much diffrence between the 2 angels but it is.

In anycase the reason why you see (seems to be)duplicated Title it uasly is diffrent Angels or of course diffrent formates (4:3/16:9)
