Hi, I had upgraded to Nero 7 Ultra awhile back and got the obviously buggy version. I updated frequently with bad results (as everyone here knows) and frankly just quit using it while waiting for a worthwhile patch. I finally downloaded the brand new update, entered my serial number, and it worked wonderfully! No freeze ups, no weird bugs, everything worked perfectly. However........ Once I closed it out and then reopened it thats when the problems arose. I went to burn another dvd, tried to open Nero Vision 4, and instead of taking me to the dvd burning screen it took me to a cd burning screen. When I clicked on the tab to change the media it said something to the effect that I was missing the plugin needed to burn dvds.
I diddnt understand this so I completely uninstalled Nero 7 (using the removal tools) and reinstalled everything. Tried it, and it worked fine so I burned another dvd. ONCE AGAIN once I closed Nero I got the SAME problem again, "you dont have the plugin for burning mpeg 2, 2 channel, 5.1, etc...". I again uninstalled and reinstalled. Thats when I realized as long as I keep Nero open im good, I can burn as many dvds as I want. But the moment I close it (after using it once) I get this error. Ideas........?
Im using version 7.2.3.2b However I have tried 7.0.8.2 and it was freezing up constantly (especially when I tried to create chapters for instance) and was useless to me. However this new one (7.2.3.2b) works perfectly....until I close it :( Nero is so damn frustrating....grrrrrrrr. Anyone else having this problem???
NeroVision used to do only AC3, 2 channel encoding. I'm not sure if NVE4 does 5.1 or not as I don't use it. Are you trying to encode a 5.1 audio stream from an AVI/divX file? Do you have any other DVD software like Roxio or ULead installed?
It might be a good idea to post the section of your NeroHistory log that deals with this error. Maybe that'll shed some light on a possible conflict or other problem.
