Devhook emulates firmware 2.5 on your 1.5 PSP. It allows you to use all of the features of 2.5 such as the webbrowser, video, music, and photo functions, but the sweet part is that you can load ISOs that require higher firmwares on it. Remember it just emulates 2.5 so you can go back to 1.5 by rebooting your PSP.
Edit: It most definetly cannot brick your PSP.

Devhook .41d is the latest release and you can get it from ps2nfo.com or pspupdates.com.

put the dh folder in the ms root. devhook and devhook% in the GAME folder. launch the app from your psp. go to the firmware selection and select 2.5. i have only benn using it for a few days so it might not be 100% :)

Greetings people. I just bought a psp yesterday so I'm a new at this... forgive me if I ask stupid questions.
The problem is I'm getting an corrupt file error when I'm trying to run games using devhook 0.46.
1. I've already installed devhook 0.46 onto my psp successfully.
2. I've created an ISO folder on my memory card and put 2 .iso files into it (I do not know what the firmware requirement is for either .iso game).
3. I run devhook, and select 2.71 firmware, also select something called image+anyUMD.
4. I select the .iso image I want to run.
5. I hit start and get a file corrupt error.
6. No, I do not have a UMD disc in my PSP.
Someone that's familiar with my problem please give some help, thanks.

I see ANY UMD...... but what's the 1.50+NOUMD option for? I tried loading 3 files with that option and none of them loaded... all I got was a black screen and the PSP auto-shutoff.

Nice to hear that your a Honda fan, but it still doesn't solve my PSP problems. If I loaded the .iso files onto UMDemulator, then run devhook, will that work? I really don't want to go out and buy a ANYUMD disc.
