Hello:

I recently bought one of the latest video cards that are suppose to be like 2 GPUs in one. Anyways so far is good must games run better than with my old Radeon card, however, great games like Doom3, Quake4 etc... still laggs and just in High Graphics and resolution not maxed (1024 by 768 I think), and when I change to Ultra high graphics which the the game automatically after installation twitches to it, it laggs so much I'm begining to think this card was a rip off. I have Pentium 4 EE 3.2 Ghz, 1G DDR2 RAM, 300 GB HD.
Isn't this card suppose to be better than this or am I expecting too much?, Can someone please help me? Maybe I have something wrong.(I hope thats the case).

what motherboard and what kind of power supply are you using?

I don't know if this helps, but when I was building my system, I had the same problem. I was running 2 X1600 Pro's in crossfire but games would still lag. Same as you I played Quake 4 and Doom3. However, after I installed the latest BIOS on my motherboard along with the latest drivers for my vid cards all was fixed and it runs like a dream. I also upgraded my PSU in the process from a generic 450W to a Thermaltake 500W. Not sure if this helps but good luck! That's one hell of a video card you have there!

Computer Specs:
AMD Athlon64 3700+ (oc'ed to 2.5Ghz)
2gb OCZ premier RAM
ASUS A8R-MVP motherboard
two ATi X1600 Pro 512mb each running in Crossfire
Thermaltake Silent Purepower 500W PSU
LG DVD +/-RW drive 4120
ACER 19" LCD 1916B
On-Board 5.1 w/ Logitech X530 speaker system

Waoh nice you got that card :)

I dont know much about this... but i guess because its so new it might be that games at the moment are not compatable with it the card or that the driver isn't or something?

:O

Thank you guys for the advise. I went to Asus home page and they had some new updates and drivers so I install them and now I can play Doom3 flawlessly(Ultra) its amaizing, Q4 still laggs just a little bit(Ultra High) when your entering a new area and I think its got to do w/ the speed of the CPU or the ram cause the PC you can see it working like crazy. And Oblivion in ultra does freezes from time to time but I think its because when I intalled it it wouldn't recognize the video card, I guess because its a new card still needs more drivers and updates from Nvidia and Asus, but I can still play it in high and its sweet. I'll keep eyes out for updates and thank you guys for the help, you rock!
(I'm actually gonna get more ram for my pc)
:)
