I started this process.. but i am having difficulties.. I got the dvd drive hooked to my PC sata on the mobo. When the computer starts to load windows it gets stuck.. and in the guide it says to eject the drive and it will continue loading. well the drive will not open when i press the eject button.. what can i do to make this work?.. thanks for any help

where does it get stuck at? is your drive in modeb?

hi.. yes i get the drive into modeb.. i used the two wire trick.. the drive spins up and then when windows gets stuck.. the tut says to eject the drive.. i cant get it to eject while in modeb.. what if i start the whole process with the drive open.. will that work? thanks for you help

are you putting the machine into modeb , THEN turning on your computer. DO NOT DO IT WHILE THE COMPUTER IS BOTTING UP.

but i am not able to get the drive open.. is there a trick to getting it to open? I mean when windows stalls on the loading screen..

put the drive in modeb, then open the tray... now boot into windows, give that a shot.

ok so i tried everything.. even when i hook the drive back to the regular way and start the machine in regular mode the damn drive will not open.. anyone have any suggestions or any idea where i went wrong here.. i do not believe i ever held the two wires together long enough to mess up the drive.. if i did is this some of the symptoms it will show.. i mean when i boot it in modeb i hear the drive spin.. but when i try to do anything in regular mode i cannot get the drive to open or spin.. any ideas.. please.. thank you

I did mine with the xbox conector kit a bit expensive but it works every time. Have you tried slax boot cd to get your drive into modeb?
Most turorials i have read cant agree what 2 wires need to be connected. Read this http://www.clevermod.com/index.php?article=37

so basically my xbox is fu**ed? I mean when i press the eject button the light in the middle flashes.. and on the screen it says open tray and then close tray.. but the tray never opens.. is there a way to manually open the tray?.. any help.. thanks for that article it shed some light on the diagram.. i just hope it isnt too late to be fixed

i've heard of this problem before, however i onw a samsung, so it didn't interest me. go over to xboxhacker.net and ask the tech people there.

Hi
I have to agree with onoxios on that one, do you know anyone with a connector kit you could borrow? With it you are only using your drive not the rest of the 360 the power comes from a spare plug in your comp, it has an eject button built into it.Are you sure your in modeb?
