Hi,

Can anyone tell me if an XBox 360 game purchased in the United States will work on my XBox 360 console purchased in Ireland?

ireland uses PAL correct, so no a game purchased in us (NTSC) will not work on a PAL xbox.

I don't think the PAL/NTSC is the issue. Just found an article on another web site which stated that each XBox 360 is coded to a region and games come either coded to a region or region free.

So depending on the game it may or may not play, depending on whether the game is region coded or region free.

even if it was region free and NTSC, it still wouldn't work on your PAL xbox :P

No, that depends on your TV.

Some TVs can handle PAL and NTSC which is the case with mine.

That I will... as I took a dive into the pool not realising the water was only a foot deep... i.e. bought a game from eBay earlier without asking the question "will it work on my irish console".
