Yes they do, see if your burner can booktype them to DVD-Rom and you'll have no problems.

it all depends on your burner because my burner which is a lite-on allows me to do, but my friends which is a NEC will not.

yes, only certain burners can booktype to DVD-Rom, and if you can it will make the DVD+R more compatible
but to tell you the truth with a slimline and TY discs you should not have to for them to work.
So somethinng you are doing is wrong. here are a few tips.
1. make sure your burner has the latest firmware that is available
2. make sure you do not use the PC or have any programs running in the backround when burning.
3. set DVD Decrypter to 4X burning speed and always select the MDS file instead of the ISO

how is your PSTwo modded, do you have a modchip or are you useing swap magic and fliptop or magic keys?

Get RITEK DVD-Rs. Far better media. The 8x's will be a very deep purple G05 dye.

no. that means the 16X is the max speed. Do not buy 16X DVD's as many people have problems with them working.

What games are you trying to back up?
With 8X DVD+R Taiyo Yuden discs you should not have a problem getting one to work. Unless your burner just does not do well with +R
BUt NEC Burners are suppose to be good.
