Hello,

I have had nothing but trouble trying to back up this game. I have used Roxio Disc Copier, Nero, Alcohol 120%, Clone DVD, UltraISO, and finally DVD Decrypter. The reading portion of the copying seems to get hung up around 59% and then crashes. I have backed up many games in the past, but any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Thnaks!

I backed this game up to 100% using DVD Decrypter. But I'm having problems playing it, it's freezing up on me alot. :/ Did you download it off the internet? or do you have the original disc?

It sounds like your disk is scratched - try cleaning the surface and see if that helps

I believe either your disc is scratched or your DVD ROM/Writer laser needs cleaning. Does the drive still copy other stuff O.K at the moment??

EDIT:- You could post a log of DVD Decrypter's failed read error and someone more capable than myself could tell you the likely problem from that.

Another thing you could do is to see if there's an update for the firmware for the DVD writer, you can check and update this in DVD Decrypter

Yeah that sounds like a drive problem or the disk could be bad. Let us know if you downloaded it or if you have the original. If you can see if you can somehow find another copy then.

Okay, here's a little more information. The drive is an LG DVD burner. I use it all the time and it never gives me errors on anything, whether it's cds, dvds, etc. The disc I'm reading from is brand new. The surface is flawless. So I don't expect a laser or a disc problem. The firmware, that's something I can look into. As for DVD Decrypter, I am using version 3.5.4.0. Is there a better version?

Thanks to all who've responded.

You have the latest DVD Decrypter. That sounds like an odd problem if you've had success before using it.

What happens exactly when you use Alcohol 120%? Like what kind of error does it give you when you use that?

Cant you just stick the disc in your DVD-ROM & do a 1:1 disc copy?
Alternatively, if you still want to create an iso, try using IsoBuster.

Here's What I've come up with. It must have been the GTA3 disc I was trying to read from. It got stuck in the same place, every time. I returned it and have moved on. I also just burned COD2: Big Red One, and no problems there. I guess I'll have to download the .iso online and try that. Thanks to all who replied with offers of help.
