I seem to have a world of trouble with some CD based (not sure if being burnt is part of the equation) games. They start fine and everything but after playing for a while, they simply stop loading (or take forever to do so). These are all burnt on Memorex CDs. If I need to change the media, what burning software should I use (to this point, I've only burnt DVD-based games; I bought all my burnt CD-R games)?

Try ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/) really similar to DVD Decrypter (uses the same engine). Also I think you can actually burn CD image with DVD Decrypter...

Try rebuilding the game into DVDs, some PS2s have problem with CD games as it's bad for the laser: http://teammodders.com/viewtopic.php?t=264

CloneCD is also an excellent programme for game CD's, very easy to use.

I have a new slimline PSTwo and for the most part, it handles CD games better than the old "brick" PS2s.
