now it will burn a full DVD-R in about 16min. but from reading others threads, it should be faster. i have an athlon 2100+ w/512ddr. are there other settings i can adjust to make it quicker?

What speed are you burning at? Is your firmware up-to-date? What media are you using?

it is up to date... v1.0e, i was burning at 16x with memorex(ritek).
