So ye

i rpped a few movies like a feew ago, and when i go to a good scene and stop the video then printscreen and try to save the image, it works, But this only works using winmedia player, with windvd the picture is black.

When i open the image in photoshop it is shown as a blank screen with a big black box, even if i was able to view the image in windows picture viewer, when i open with PS it just has a black screen.

Could someone tell me wha this is?? copywrite?? illegal???, and if so how i could get around this, so i can use something to take still images of certian parts of the film. y friends recomended a screen capture software from download.com but that was for mac's and the other progs all sucked and one i tryed did the same thing and recordeed a blck screen.

Thnx alot i hope someone can help me :)

This works for me. There is a Print Screen button on my keyboard near the top right side. Find the scene you want. Press the button. I have PhotoImpact 4.2 where I open a New Blank and paste the image from my Print Screen as a New Image.

Try a similiar method with any Photo editor that you might have. Won't cost for any new software. It might or might not work for you.

I use a program called SnagIt..... here are some shots I took with my printscreen button (I set that to use for SnagIt to take a shot of the screen):

my desktop

from my media player.

sometimes your image that is saved using PrintScreen will black out when putting the image into your paint or photo editing software because of the quality settings and resolution settings of your video card. if you lower the settings you might get better results. but with SnagIt I don't have to do that and it has it's own editing software and you get results like this:
