Please can someone give me a difinative answer as to whether it is possible to play xbox 1 backups on a 360 with xtreme firmware? I have seen different claims from different places but hopefully someone here can set me straight.
Cheers

Yes you can, however they have to be backed up as an xbox360 game, meaning you need to open isobuster, put the magic number and the build it with ssmerger.

I grabbed a game from torrentleech called "Crusty Demons Freestyle" which is a XBOX 1 game, well all I did was burn it with IMGburn and tried to play it in my 360 with the extreme firmware and my 360 tells me XBOX is not supported. What did I do wrong? Im sure everything but some help would be aprreciated.
Thanks!

hey -XbOxOwNeR- it worked, I played Quake 4 (a backup) on it and all looks good, but from what I understand you need to update you 360 on xbox-live to be backwards compatible with certain xbox1 games.

@geestar20, of course that wouldn't work. Normally made Xbox 1 backups will not work. The way the firmware hacks work is by booting RAW game dumps, including the correct spacing between sectors, dummy data, and layerbreak. Also, if you didn't know, downloading a game off torrent isn't "backing up" ;)
To the original poster and all others interested, it is in fact possible to play Xbox 1 backups on the Xbox 360 using the firmware hacks. And to the person who asked, they do work on Live perfectly fine. I wrote a tutorial for backing up your Xbox 1 games to play them on the Xbox 360. Enjoy.

on an unmodded xbox what would the 360 console say if you put a backup from original xbox game that plays on xbox1 normally? just curious what it says. wanna know if it thinks it is a xbox original without the FW flash or if it tells you it is not a game disc...

From what I now understand
The xbox 360 will not play xbox1 backups if it has not been flashed with the xteme firmware.
I know for a fact that the 360 will not play xbox1 backups if it is not modded.
What I have gathered is that it will play xbox1 backups as long as:
1: The origional game is supported
2: The game is burnt to a dual layer DVD as per a 360 game
I also think you may have to patch??? the game to play properly???
If anyone knows different please share
Cheers

will the original firmware on 360 detect the the game on a DVD-R is a xbox1 title or will it tell you this media is unsupported.. I dont have DL discs and was trying my original backups and it detects as xbox originals but am curious if the original firmware would even see it that way? Just tryin to see if my flash of the new firmware looks like it took from what i see..

With the xtreme Xbox 360 firmware hack, it will not work with any "normal" Xbox 1 backups. The backups must be raw dumps patched with the "Xbox 360 version" SS.

You must patch the Xbox 1 Game like a Xbox 360 Image and must Be on a DL DVD because the security sector is on the second layer of the disk.

Actually, the 360 Firmware looks for the SS on Layer 0, so theoretically a single layer disc would work fine. The only problem is the raw dumps are always over 6.5 gbs anyways.
