Hi, im in the middle of my mod.

I successfully opened the casing.

I've used the SLAX cd method. This boots fine and I get the text scrolling down the screen.

The xbox after a certain time turns itself off. I have grounded it with the pc chasis using croc clips.

Also the text halto on 'DISABLING IRQ #11'

I also notice the text 'TRY BOOTING WITH THE IRQPOLL OPTION'.

Please help me.

Also the cd light is flashing red as appose to green.

What does this mean?

By "CD Light" do you mean the ring of light around the power button? if so look here;

Hi, I was using the eject button to power instead of the power.

The redlight was flashing beecasue the video cable wasnt plugged in.

Enen though I didnt get the login prompt Windows successfully saw this in XP.

I managed to successfully backup/flash the drive.

How do I know if it works?

I'm not really good at stuff like this but the only way I can think of is trying to play a backed up game

Can I backup the games using a normal dvd writer dual layer using the correct procedure? or do I have to write the files from the xbox360's rom?

I'm not sure if this is the easiest guide out there but I like it cause it has step-by-step pictures to help you.
