i just burned a DVD-9 game on DVD-9 and it doesn't work on my ps2. i have a slim ps2 with modchip. first i made a image of "god of war" DVD-9 using Nero express 6 on my hard drive then i burned it using DVD-9 DL (raidata company 2.4x speed) with Nero. Nero burned it successfully. but i can't play it on ps2. when i insert it, it says, please insert correct format of ps2 game or something. do i need to use any special program to burn DVD-9 ps2 game to DVD-9. when i put it in my dvd rom, it shows like used space 3.96gb. i think thats on first layer of dvd but how to chk 2nd layer of this dvd. cz when i put the original dvd. it shows used space 7.93gb. and the image i made is also 7.93gb. i don't know whats the proleb
yes, only a couple mod chips play DVD9 back ups.
But there is a way around that. If your mod chip can play original DVD9 games then go on the net and get Toxic DL Patcher

you can then patch the game before you burn it so that any chip that plays DVD9 originals can play the back up you patched.
Then use DVD Decrypter to make and burn the disc. Some programs can not copy DVD9, not sure about Nero, i just don't like it much.
And use some quality media and not just some crappy no name brand or Memorex discs.
i am trying to burn "god of war" ps2 game 8.5gb. but the game i already burn is wrking on my friends ps2. any ways, i downloaded the dl patcher and patched the game and try to play and didnot worked again. so i think i hv a crappy modchip. so i talked to the guy who installed the chip for me,to get better chip like dms4. which one is better, he says like dms4 plays any ps2 pal/ntsc game on any tv pal/ntsc. or you guys want me to try ripping the game again with DVD Decrypter and patch it using the dlpatcher and burn it using DVD Decrypter?
i don't know what modchip i hv now but i paid preety less for this chip. so i think this chip is not good.
If you are getting a new chip, I'd go with matrix infinity or DMS4 Pro, either are great chips, I use MI myself, steimy's a DMS4 Pro man, and never have problems with the chip.
If you are going to stick with your current modchip, then rebuild the game to DVD5 and it should load :)
yea, i opened my ps2 and it says on chip "Action mars a750". so i think i have this "mars action a750 modchip" in my slim ps2 v14. Does this chip supports DVD-9 burned dvds? +/- or both DVD-9?
