in the new sports illustrated for kids
there was a section on video games, mostly ps3 and Wii
but at the end of the Wii section it said
Launch date November 6
i dont have a camera but heres some1 who took pics

Nice find! Yeah I dunno because nintendo hasn't released the official date but people in the print industry have advanced knowledge...We assumed about the same time as ps3 so that sounds about right.wikipedia has it Q1 2007..

They just changed it a few days back.It was that date I even have a discussion in another forum where everyone agrees with me.Sorry the info changes all the time as we get closer to launch.
in fact the first paragraph on the wiki wii section has a "citation needed" notice right before the release date.Go ahead and see what that means I left a second link!

The date sounds about right. While we might not know the exact date yet, you can bet it will launch before the Thanksgiving weekend sales in late November.

Nov. 6 sounds about right. Nintendo wants to undercut Sony as much as possible, releasing before them will aid them greatly.
I believe Sony is in for a real Shock this year.

not me though i think this will be without a doubt the worst console ever realesed in history thats just me though ,forcing game devs to use a gimmick to play games isnt a good idea in my book.
and also im a microsoft fan so i want nintendo to die then we can easily take down sony by stealing all of their game exclsuives tittles.
my take is nintendo will die this generation.

I actually read somewhere (might have been nintendo power) that Wii is going to come out in the US before Japan. Why? Nintendo will lose alot of the market if they dont release it before thanksgiving. I bought a SNES, a GBA SP, an N64, a GCN, and a DS all the day they came out but this time Im going to wait until black friday so I get some free stuff with it.

games Im looking forward to: bioshock, SSBB, enemy territory quake wars, halo 3

i couldn't disagree more.
I think the Wii will be the best console ever, and i realy dont think nintendo will die this generation, the DS is a great succes so even if the Wii wont be a succes (i think) they still wont die.
And I dont get why you want 2 of the 3 popular console brands to die.
I think the competition will only bring great new ideas. (at least for nintendo)

Actually, they aren't forcing devs to use the wiimote .. Super Smash Brother: Brawl can only be played using the gcn controllers.
A Wii title can be made to use only the gcn controllers, but Nintendo is trying to push the wiimote by getting as many devs as possible to make wiimote-only games
I think we'll start to see more standard controller games after the release, once Nintendo is finished with their wiimote hype

so if brawl is using the GCN controller, will Wii come with a GCN controller? I already have 4 controllers but a new one wouldn't hurt

@mudearies... your a not microsoft fan period.I know and like you ,but you are clearly a ps3 fan and that's where it ends.
@mark5hs as you may already know wii will be compatible with gcn controllers.You said you have 4 already so just use one of those.It'll save you money.
@cantide agreed.You,oofrome,sully_2u,and a select other few are the only "regulars" I take seriously on these forums nowadays.No offence to others.
