I've recently looked at my computer and found out it didn't have SATA connectors but IDE. I've looked at SATA PCI cards and also at USB to SATA converters. I've found this converter and it looks pretty good.

Can any1 tell me if I'm better getting the converter or a PCI card or any other way I can do it.

If it were me I would get an internal PCI Sata card...but thats just me.

I agree geestar20. As far as I'm aware gamer, you need one of these. Convertors don't work (USB2->SATA). Please tell me i'm wrong as I have a laptop and would love to utilise this solution. From the tutorial it looks like you need to boot up in DOSS and Since USB drivers dont exist in DOSS your stuck! Good luck.

at start-up, just by pressing F11 you can choose options as to what device you want to boot from, I.E. floppy,cd,usb,HDD and so on.

You can create a boot up cd just like a floppy but its headach (for me anyways) As I stated I would choose to go with an interanl SATA card...no more IDE cables for daisy chaining your HDD, they (SATA) have their own seperate ports.
