Hello all,

New to the dvd-ripping and encoding world. I'm having a problem though. When using DVD Decrypter, and other programs as well, I can't seem to get a read rate of higher than .9X. My dvd drive is a Samsung WriterMaster 16x, my CPU is an Athlon 64 x2 4200+, and I have my APSI layer is good according to those diagnostic tools. Maybe someone has an idea, or could point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

Also, if this helps, I built this computer myself. I've read a few places that if you install any dvd-burning software on Windows XP, that it will cause problems. I did install a version of Nero that came with the dvd drive. Also, I have checked all the IDE ATA/ATAPI device controllers, and they're all set to "DMA if available".
