Does anyone know how to Ensure Hitachi drive is in mode b either by two wire trick or slax linux boot cd, in more lamense terms for me and also do I need a newer mobo for the connection I have an intel 865gbf does it have a sata connection for disk drives. Also I thought it was the samsung drives that were the ones to mod not the hitatchi.

samsung used to be the only hackable, now we can do hitachi as well. to insure the hitachi is in mode b, do the cross wire trick.. its real easy. Slide the wries into 0 and 9 sections, see tutorial and hold them together, now power on the xbox and INSTANTLY "untouch" the wires. The green light will flash, that will tell you, you are in mode b. Now power on the pc and you will see the xbox drive.

yeah and keep it too long and you will fry your drive...so use the live cd...safer

do you know of any picture based tutorial I could follow I am not completely retarded to computer hardware but a good picture step tutorial would be nice if you cant maybe explain it a lil more easy to understand

Covers both Samsung and Hitachi drives.
(Includes a resistor fix instead of simply switching the wires,
That way you have less chance to 'brick' your 360 console.)
If you cant figure it with this you might
as well just hang it up all together.
