If I'm posting to the wrong forum reassign me,I got lost in trying!
I have Ashampoo and an old Nero Express for burning CDs.
Neither of them will let me burn KVCDs with above 700M. Either they try to convert them under the (X)VCD menus, or tell me," It's too big, it's too big!" .
I could split the video, but my splitter doesn't work on KVCDs and anyway that would negate KVCD's one disc advantage.
What to do, what to do?

try overburning the disc in Nero, but be sure to burn at only 4X this will provide a HUGE amount of overburning level, i did it with a 700mb cd on 4X and got about 850MB or something overburn (total all together )

As an (X)VCD a 700MB/80min disc holds 800MB's, without the need to overburn. Make sure that Nero isn't trying to re-encode, otherwise you can only fit 80mins worth of video (VCD is 10MB/min).

Thanks for the tips, but compared to you guys I'm just taking my fist faltering steps.
Firstly my version of Nero Express is 5.something,so virtually antique. I have "obtained" several versions of 7.thingy but they've always failed to work.
I live in China where software usually about 10p,( Ameicans, YOU'LL have to convert currencies for a change), but often a gamble and assurances that it is in English are often false.
I'll keep trying ,but this version of Nero either insists on re encoding. It also will not accept KVCD as valid if I try just to encodeit as a data disc saysdisc too small anyway. It also will almost never let me encode at4x, 8x is the usual minimum.
Overburning sounds drastic. As either my Chinese CD RW is faulty, ( WHENwill they learn quality control?), or I'm having massive problems with faulty media, (you'd be amazed to find how many electronics and computer firms apparently make blank CD Rs according to the Chinese counterfeit market), don't think I'll try to get that past myDVD machine.
Even if I knew how
Finally, how do you correct typos on this forum software without overwriting subsequent letters? Most annoying.

The main problem is that KVCD are either PAL or NTSC and chinaese TVs use none of them, I think.

THe TV and DVD machine end is not the problem. All Chinese DVD machines can cope with PAL and Never Twice the Same Colour, ( they have to, the pirated DVDs here come from a variety of sources and seldom specify which system is in use).
As to the TV, the Chinese stations, as far as I know, all use PAL, only the Japanese use NTSC.
Whatever standard they use, the Chinese dub everything into Chinese, ( and then still show Chinese subtitles), Chinese programs themselves are mainly dire, ( talking heads/ Kung fu/ ancient history/soap operas), so almost every lao wai,(Foreigner), here has an extensive collection of DVDs.
Choice and availability are often eccentric, and this is one reason why someone like me wants to burn KVCDs, for the stuff that never gets into/ wouldn't sell in China .
Hey! That's what the Ins key is for! I always thought it was Insurance, so you press it on the numerous occasions that you think Windoze won't do what you want it to.

Should be a check box in Nero to allow you to burn non compliant VCD's. That way it should let you burn upto 800MB's and not force you to re-encode.

and the ins key is one of the most stupid inventions on the keyboard, do not press it unles you have numlock on.
