I'm trying to burn a DVD+RW disc. it's a Maxell disc.
In the beginning error appear and it says "illegal disc".

Second problem is when I'm burning normal DVD+R discs.
Burn process is failing at 100%.

Here is the log for the "illegal disc" -error:

not an expert on this but i have learned some things. This is what i think you need to do:
Quote:
DiskPeripheral : Maxtor 6Y120L0 YAR4 nvidesm Port 1 ID 0 DMA: Off
CdRomPeripheral : HL-DT-STDVDRAM GSA-4163BA105 nvidesm Port 1 ID 0 DMA: Off
you should have DMA on if they are not virtual drives. heres a guide on how to turn it on:
http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/checking%20DMA.pdf
Quote:

Recorder: <HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B>Version: A105
i believe the latest version of your firmware is A106. you can get it here:
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1973
Quote:
Nero Version: 6.6.0.16
Internal Version: 6, 6, 0, 16b
i think that Nero version 6.6.0.18 is a better less buggy version. Uninstall yours and install that 1. you can get it here (both):
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe
package 2:
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe
Quote:
Physical memory : 511MB (523760kB)
Free physical memory: 148MB (152304kB)
Memory in use : 70 %
512 MB ram is the least you can have for burning DVDs. &0% mem in use i guess is a little high just try not to multitask or anything while burning.

edit: changed link for new version of Nero

@munkhead
Just to add to Xevlys good advice. Here's some suggestions:
Quote:
nvidesm
Looks like you have Nvidia controllers - so Nero may not report your DMA mode correctly.
The guide Xevlys listed will give you an idea of where to check and make sure you are in DMA mode.
Quote:
Formatting disc failed
Do a full erase (not quick) on the +RW disc. If that still fails try a 'fresh' +RW disc
Quote:
File 'Drivers\InCDfs.SYS' & File 'Drivers\CDRALW2K.SYS
Nero's InCD and Roxio don't always play well together.
If you not using InCD you may want to uninstall it and run the clean:
http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/us/InCD_CleanTool.html
Same thing for Roxio - here's the clean tool:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml

Now for the +R disc's that fail at 100% - if the firmware update doesn't help - post one of those logs too.
