ok so i did the new version 2.6 downgrade and it looked like i did everything right it even did the disk read error but it still says i have a 2.6 version when i scroll all the way over to the system settings help!!

Must not have took. I remeber the guy who was doing all those psps said he had 1 with unchanged firmware. Did your psp come 2.60 from factory or having wrighting on the motherbored?

also there is now a file called odd when i look at the psp files on my computer

Hmmm not sure wait untill one of the guys who has done tons of downgrades... I would think if you cleaned all the old files off your psp and followed the guide you would be fine, but don't get mad at me if you brick...

Try updating to 2.00 then and then downgrading, that might make it say 1.5
