DRU-500 not writing on external software

Hi everyone,

I've just bought a Sony DRU-500AX. It reads and writes everything, however only with the bundled softwares. I've tried with Nero 5.5.10.28 (it hangs up during RW erasing or after file caching) and Ulead DVD Workshop 1.2 (it does everything it needs to do with the menus and movies but after few seconds of burning it tells me that it cannot burn on the disc), with different types of discs, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW from Sony and TDK, but I'm only able to get something burned with the bundled RecordNow DX.
Im'running Windows 2000SP2. The unit itself has the 2.0c firmware, it just needs the new 2.0f firmware or what?
