Section 1: ISO backup and Loading (THE LEGAL WAY)---------------------

1) To accuire and ISO of your UMD you must First install Fastloaderv7 or UMD dumper. I recrommend fastloader becuase it can also load your ISOs sometimes. http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/90

2) Install on PSP by copying ISO, ISOSPLIT and ISOMISC onto the root of your memory stick. Next copy the two folders inside PSP>GAME called fastloader and fastloader% onto your memory stick inside PSP>GAME.

3)To copy the inserted game to the memory stick just hit dump inserted
UMD. Your game will be copied into the ISO folder on your memory stick .You can rename it if you like.

4) If your game you dumped required anything under firmware 2.0 fastloader will load it with no probel

5)Here is compatibilty list of nearly all PSP games. ps2nfo.com/psp.html

Common Questions------------------------------------------------------

1)A PSP game I downloaded came in a bunch of files that are identical instead of an ISO. What do I do?

A)Install Win-Rar.(Win-rar.com)Right Click one of the files except the SWF and ht Extract files.

2) A game I downloaded came as UMD_DATA.BIn and PSP_GAME. What now?

A Download UMDGEN 3.02(http://www.umdgen.com/utilities.html) and combine to make an iso. Tutorials on the Website.

3) A game I downloaded came as an three files like X, Lemmings and PSP
How to I load these?

A Copy the three folders to the memory stick root and load the hacked run umd file from the PSP game menu. When the program loads dont hit the button to exract system files.

4) How do I load newer games that are encrypted?

A Use Devhook sample laucher in cooperation with game patches
Devhook:Included Flash0 and 1(http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AOB2T56B)
Fixes: PSP.PS2nfo.com
To apply PPF patches load iso in UMDGEN and click tools then apply PPF to ISO
Also you can compress PSP iso to cso for devhook. Use this. Requires Free registration for download link to appear. (http://www.ps2nfo.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&file=viewarticle...)

i think this or a similar tut should be stickied, seeing as how many increased questions of similiar variety have been asked in the last week since the 2.5/2.6 Downdater has come out, and i know some members are tired of repeating their answers repeatedly...

Section II : What happened to my custom backround feature?

If you recently downgrdaded your PSP you may have noticed that your PSP no longer has the feature of using your own background or changing the color of the standard backrounds.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do I change the color of my backround?

A) On 1.5 since thier is no theme button you must change the month on your PSP. Each month has its own color.(system settings then date and time)

January- Grey July-cyan
Febuary-Yellow August-dark blue
March-Light green Semptember-purple
April- Pink October -orange
May- Dark green November-brown
June-Blue/purpleish December-red
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How do i use my own backrounds?

A) My favorite method is using flashmod v3
http://dl.qj.net/Flashmod-v3-PSP-Homebrew-Applications/pg/12/fid/...
Before you try install a backround you must know this: The program overites (and restores) a color background depending on what month you want to overite. It will know which month to overite becuase of the file name. For Example if you wanted to overite January you would name your file 01.bmp and for december it would 12.bmp. Another example: the 7th month of the year would be 07.bmp

Rules for Custom backgrounds:
1)must be a 24bit bitmap
2)must be 300x170 in size and no bigger than 150kb
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How to do it.

Put the bitmap picture on the root of the memory stick.
Example: X:/07.bmp

Load Flashmod and under one of the menus will be the feature install custom backgrounds. Make sure your battery is charged or have the AC adapter plugged in.Click the buttona and wait untill it is done flashing. Exit flashmod and enjoy your new backrounds. Obviously make sure you have your date set for the month you overwrote.

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/317842

The funny thing is the thread is in bold and says:

-{GENERAL FAQ}- Click Here Before You Post Anything About the PSP!!

I guess people just don't know how to read.
