Hi,

Dont know if this has been posted but i couldnt find it.

Ihave a wirless dsl connestion but i dont want to pay the ?90 thyere charging for the usb adapter for xbox 360.
My pc picks the connection up no problem using a belkin adapter.
I have an ethernet cable and want to take the connection from my pc to my xbox using it. The 360 picks it up when testing the connection but when it gets to the "ip address" setting it fails.
It says that an ip address could not be assigned to it. And on my pc the local area connection says "limited or no connectivity".

Is there anything i can do to get it working?

Any help much appreciated

You need to make sure that you have internet connection sharing switched on.
Go to control panel, then network connections,
right click on the connection that is connected to the internet, a list will come up select properties
When the local connection properties box comes up. select advanced at the top of the screen. make sure that the 2 little boxes under internet connection sharing have a green tick in them
then click ok

You will probably find that you will also have to turn your modem of for a minute as some modems wont release an IP address they have previously used

Afterwards turn your xbox back on and let it automatically detect your internet connection.
