yes. Atrac3. Sony made this format. It's about 1/3 the size of an .mp3 and I do believe it is currently the smallest known format for music. (but then again, I think I DID hear something about one other format which is even smaller than atrac3.)

@ tam2oo5:

What tutorial?

for .at3? I can't try it yet b/c I'm at work. I will have to do this when I get home. I can't wait tho. I am going to get some killer songs, change them to .at3 from .mp3 and set them in Midnight club. Tricky thing is: w/e you replace, you have to keep the same name as the song you're replacing. So if you're replacing one of the songs on Midnight Club say, "Beenie Man - Dude" and you want "Metallica - Enter Sandman" to play instead, you have to put "Metallica - Enter Sandman" in the song folder, but call it "Beenie Man - Dude". Every time it goes to play the Beenie Man song, it will now play Metallica instead.

thanks, tam.

Man, I tried moonlight's audio recorder to get some songs off of Most Wanted cause there are some killer songs on the SDTK, but I forgot the set up procedure and everytime I tried to record songs via UMD, the PSP froze. I am still working on that...

http://www.gamersreports.com/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t1901.html

I've already tried Goldwave and didn't like it vmuch, but if you wanna try it, go ahead. I might mess w/ it again, b/c I know it's crappy and not very user friendly, but I guess I forgot just how crappy it is, so I kinda wanna try it again. But if you have to go on a wild goosechase trying to d/l this codec and that codec, it will be a pain in the butt. When I want something, I want the direct d/l. I don't wanna go to 50 different places like w/ Dax UMD dumper.

@ tam2oo5: btw, you CAN save .mp3 files as .wav files, then tag them as .at3, but that's retarded. That doesn't even sound right b/c .wav files are so much bigger than .mp3s. Like 4-5 times the size... ???

yeah i know i looked at that link , i went to attributes and atrac3 wasnt there. I might need to restart the comp for the codec to take effect. But cant be botherd with hastle of it loading all back up il try it later and just keep searching a for a direct program like you said

Try this then. Codemasters uses this. (Codemasters made ToCA 2 Racing; they're a KILLER produKtion company!)

http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/

Since you're at home, try this and lemme know. I wanna go home and get straight to work. I don't wanna be doin this all night, you know? But I think this has to be used in conjunKtion w/ SonicStage as the two were mentioned together. IDK. ExactAudioCopy might work tho. You never know until you try...

Good luck, tam
