Hi i have been using verbatim DVD+R for a bit. All of a sudden when i put a blank disc into my drive it is either

-incorrect function, D/ - inaccesible
or
-message 'please insert a blank disc'

I am only wanting to put data on this disc.

It is recognising the same discs that have been burned with films etc

Pls help !!!!!!!!!!

Have you recently installed or uninstalled any CD/DVD burning software? That can kill Windows ability to see the burner properly. It is a common problem, but I have never had it.

i have not used the dvd drive for a bit. If that is the case what would you advise?

I have read the link you sent, it does not sound good.

When the drive has not a blank dvd in it it recognises it as a dvd drive, though once the dvd is in it is coming up as only a cd drive !!!!

Any ideas anyone?

Sounds like it could possibly be an ASPI problem...run this utility and post back with the ASPI results:

Hi

Under Nero aspi it says,

wnaspi 2.0.1.74 164112 November 02,2004
There is nothing under system aspi, it says nothing is installed.

Hope this helps.
