i'm going to be buying a in a couple days and i was wondering if there is a way to find out which drive it has. i wouldn't want to buy open it up and have the hitachi or even the new one

any help would be appreciated. thnx in advance

look for lot numbers and team names...go to your store and look at the boxes and match the numbers..

The site isn't 100% accurate, and you never know for sure what drive you will get. I got Lot 0614, Team WZHO and it ended up being a Hitachi. I returned it, got Lot 0614, Team FDOU and got the Samsung. My friends are going to try the same thing, I was just lucky I didn't have to return 2 or 3 consoles before I got the Samsung drive.

damnit man.. I have tried 2 times already to get the Sammy drive... even bought a premium from Wal mart with the 0612 lot number and the team WZHO and it was a darn hitachi...

I need a sammy..

I have my Launch day 360 with Hitachi flashed with the firmware, but I hate the reset trick, so I need a sammy badly..

are you in the states?? where did you purchase it?

My local target has about 4 premiums, that are Lot 0615 and team WZHO... not sure if I should try them..

I have (had) a month-old Hitachi 360. Then yesterday I came across this thread. I checked out 360drives.com and found what numbers I needed to get the Samsung. I called my wife at work (she's in the pharmacy at our local Kmart) and had her check if they had any in stock and what lot/team numbers were on the box if they did. They did have a Lot 0614/Team FDOU in stock so I had her put it aside. I exchanged the hit. for the sam. Of course I didn't know for sure that it was a sam. until I got home, but sure enough it was. That info on 360drives.com worked for me.

Plus with her working there, we get a 10% discount, so my 399.99 preimum was only 359.99. 8^)
