iv just bought tomb raider legend for my 1.5 psp and i dont want to update it.
Someone told me to use dev hook but i have no idea how to install it onto my psp could someone please help me with simple instructions on how to use it
any help will be great

Get DevHook 0.42
Drag all files to root of mem stick and over write all what it says.
Get firmware 2.0 and 2.5 files from psp-hacks.com
Download PSPbrew and open 2.0 fimware in it.
1)Select DATA.PSAR and click extract. It should send it to your PSP root.
2)Now go to your PSP, go to game and select firmware installer.
3)Go through the on-screen process, should take maximum of 2mins.
4)Then once done 2.0 files have been installed.
Repeat steps 1 - 4 but this time with the 2.50 firmware.
Devhook is now installed
Now go your PSP, then go to game, and select devhook.
Enter the following settings:
umd select - 'choose your iso'
umd mount - iso anyumd
umd ver. - 2.xx -> 2.00
firmware - 2.50
cpu clock - 222/111
boot select - reboot xmb
Go to start, then you should be emulating 2.50 and your game should load automatically.

It is redundant to get the 2.00 firmware also. As you are only going to want to use 2.5. The best way to use devhook and have it run is get devhook, put it on your psp. Obtain a 2.5 eboot and extract the data.psar to the root of your memory stick. Start the DH firmware installer. Let it extract all the files out of the data.psar file when its done tell it NOT to copy the registry related stuff. And now for the settings on devhook.
UMD SELECT - The iso you want.
UMD MOUNT - ISO ANYUMD
UMD VERSION - 2.XX -> 2.00
FIRMWARE - 2.50
CPU CLOCK - 222 OR 333
BOOT SELECT - REBOOT XMB

Are you positive you told it to boot the firmware version 2.5 in the devhook settings. Sorry i have to ask just to make sure. I will package my working devhook and send it to you if want to pm me your email addy.

ive got a full working devhook system thanks, ive swapped prx's etc and used the rip kit, but nothing lol

you can click the little face thing over to the right. Thats the pm button or u can use compose a private message ^ button at the top.

it seems that when i put the umd in with the iso anyumd setting thats what makes it crash

if i keep the umd in it crashes just before the xmb is loaded, but if i take the umd out just before the loading of it it stays on the 2.5 xmb, but when i pop it back in it crashes :(

That is weird. Atleast you have pinpointed it down to that. Thats what needs to be done when a problem like that arises. You can pm me your email addy and i can send a working copy off devhook, straight off my personal psp. You might also want to try formatting the memory stick and redoing devhook.

Hmmm what a stumper huh? Does it crash this same way if you were to boot a UMD from 1.5 with emulating the 2.5 firmware. Or does it only crash wen you use devhook?

Ok ya so then it has to be devhook. If you will pm me your email addy once again ill send u a working copy of devhook to see if that can help us pinpoint it to as exactly what it is. The stuff i would send would be safe and i would not give out your addy. If not then lets keep workin so we can get you squared away!!! :)

My devhook used to crash right after the Sony Computer Entertainment thing when i downloaded a full package with the flash0 and 1 but when I put my own flash0 and 1 it worked fine.
