Hey all, I need a little help with a(new) Duox 2 Cromwell/FlashBios edition chip installed in a version 1.0 Xbox. Please bear with my long explanation as I want to give as much detail as possible.

I started with a Xbox ver 1.0 that had a bad hot swapping job done to it. It?s most common error code was 21, so I thought a chip would fix it. I and a friend that solders very well (Boeing trained) helped solder the chip in.
First we went to the duomodchip web site and got the install diagram for ver 1.0 box. We snipped the legs of the pin header that did not go into the Xbox mother board. Which were the two between A and B and the 2 between H and I(per the install picture from the duomodchip site). We soldered the remaining legs to the mother board.
After that we soldered the other piece of the pin header to the duox2 chip. We left the pin between the A and B unsoldered (per the install picture from the duomodchip site), but soldered all the other legs.
Next we soldered the D0 wire (per the install picture from the duomodchip site). We did run into a problem with the d0 point on the mother board. The 30awg wire broke of in the mother board. We de-soldered as much as we could, and re-soldered the wire back in. The BT soldered up no problem. After that we plugged in the chip and fired up the Xbox expecting the best.
When we hit the power button the Xbox attempts to start 3 times and frags, with the chip flashing on and off the whole time. And no video or audio. We tried switching banks and get the same problem.. If we start with the eject button the Xbox boots to error 21 with the chip not lighting up. And if the chip is disconnected by the pin header the Xbox does the same error.
Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks for read and hopefully helping. Let me know if I left any important info out

Elliot: Hey, do you, uh, think I could come back some time and play with your Xbox?
Karen: Anytime, kid.
Elliot: Bye.
Karen: Oh! Well, would you look at that? This game is called an Xbox. Well. Ha ha ha...

I don't know about Doux modchip. But I know that you did not install the modchip right.

If you install it right, turn on xbox and it will ask you to update bios.

Oh sorry, I must not have made myself clear. I knew there was something not right about what was happening when I started up the Xbox. That was the point of my post, I knew something was wrong and was hoping some one could give me a little guiding light as to what went wrong. Once again sorry about the miss communication on my part.
But the good news is I figured what I did wrong after doing more research on the net. I found some better pictures and realized I cut off 1 too many legs on the pin header section that goes into the mother board. Luckily I had ordered a couple of extra pin headers .So now it up and running.
Thanks to everyone that read my post, and to those who replied.
