ok.i'm just wondering, cuz there is some people selling them...
and if you look at the chip,it seems to not really do anything...
because it allows you to play backup games, yes, but to backup a game, you still them have to hook ur xbox up to ur pc,change the firmware, copy the game and then change the firmware back, and then play the game, this pretty much does the exact same thing as just changing ur firmware to xtreme's one...the modchip at this point is absolutly useless...unless i'm missing something here???

ppl shudnt be sellin it yet as it hasnt been released, maybe there doin preorders but that shud be it, also u dont need to do anythin with the firmware as the chip does it all otherwise it wud be pointless.
this is taken from there site
"The NME-360 autodetects the inserted media. If the inserted media is a backup NME-360 injects the necessary information to the DVD drive enabling it to boot smoothly ahead! If the media is an original game, or anything else, which doesnt require any further action of the NME-360 then it simply falls asleep so there is no need for an external switch whatsoever. This way it can not be detected online when you play an original onlinegame"

yes but if i am not required to change the firmware, then how will i be able to copy a game? to copy xbox 360 you have to connect ur 360 to a pc,otherwize the disk won't read..unless there is some other way to copy a 360 game, then yeah, everything works out fine, just copy the game and play it in your 360,but right now as far as i no,the only way to copy a game is to hook up ur 360 to ur pc...

this chip is not a MODCHIP. it is an "on fly flasher". It switches interchangably between orig.bin and xtreme.bin, based on whether you are using a DVD+R DL or an xbox game. The only benifit from this chip is it hides your firmware hack when using an original game on Live... but live cant detect the firmware as of now, rendering this chip useless.

Actually, the chip was released today. Anyone interested should be able to buy it real soon. Quote from their site:
Quote: 11.07.2006 - Chip released to the public
Today the first batch of our spectacular NME-360 Modchip got shipped to resellers. We are happy to have the chip released within the announced timeframe. You will see samples popping in to the major news websites pretty soon for their reviews.

I don't see a real use for homebrew as my original xbox can do that. My only concern is that online updates or game updates render the chip useless. seeing this chip is not flash upgradable.
