Hi everyone. I am thinking of getting Swap Magic 3 and the slide tool, but I am really not sure about it because I think I will get really tired of always having to switch the discs. So I am really leaning towards getting a Modchip built into my system but then i'm not sure if I will be able to get my games to play online because with swap magic you just use the Disc Id utility to get the DNAS code and then patch the ISO image, can I still get my games online with a simple modchip instead of swap magic?.

could you guys help me?

I am thinking of getting either of these as soon as i can get the money and know exactly what I should get and what is better.

thanks in advance :)

Please dont bump your topic after only an hour & a half of it being posted. We don't just sit on these forums all day waiting for people like you to post you know! Have a little patience!

You can go online with either mod option. The only thing you need to be aware of is that with SM you dont need to worry at all about DNA$ detecting your mod, whereas with a chip you will need to disable it to go online with an original store bought game - a patched backup is fine, since, once patched, your chip wouldnt be detected.

As for which mod to go for, both have their plus & minus points.

I personally went the Swap Magic route because I didnt trust a complete stranger to fiddle about with my ps2 & fit a chip in case it blew up later on, which happened to 2 of my friends ps2s.
If you do decide to go with SM, then i'd advise against a slide card as you run the risk of knackering your drive tray. Go for a flip-top instead.

Always 1st with 100% working PS2 Online Game DNA$ IDs!!

soz about that.

thanks for the info, At the moment I am looking at a Mod chip, the DMS4 S.E PRO.

So I just patch the DNAS files on the ISO with the original Codes and It will work fine without detecting the Chip? cool. I'm ok with mod chips, I'll get it done at a store I know who modded my PSOne a few years back. And my friend has Swap Magic 3 with the slide tool and he reckons its great its just I would get really annoyed at having to swap the discs all the time.

Oh and I was also looking at the Solderless DMS4, the DMS4 E.Z.I Pro, Is there a significant change from that to the DMS4 SE Pro?. Because i could install the solderless one myself. Any recommendations for mod chips would be greately Appreciated.

You'd be better asking the guy that's gonna do the chip for you about exact specifications/differences between the 2 DMS versions, but you cant go wrong with a DMS4 or a Matrix Infinity - both good chips from what I've heard.

Yeah I Ordered a DMS4 Special Edition Pro from emodchips.com.au and I will be taking the modchip to the store I know and they will install it for me because they themselves dont sell modchips anymore, well they were banned here so they arent selling them but they do install them for people. I cant wait, I live in AUS and I have a mate in america and we are both members of the playstation underground and he is already getting BETA tests so after he tests them he will send them to me to try them, and the only way to do that was to get a Mod chip. What do you think about the DMS4 S.E Pro?. I have looked around and this is probably the best, also seeing what people thought about it and recomendations etc.
