I have finally made the switch from console to PC games. I will probably jump back when PS3 takes its first price drop but that will be at least 2 years after release before they have a price drop.

I know little about programing but not enough to say I am an expert. I can usually read code and modify it.

I want to open up some .dat files (EA game) and view them and then modify some things. Head Coach is game I am trying modify. I know there are unitlities for changing game difficulties and stuff but I want to be able to see for myself and see if I can do anything with the files.

Any help would be great. Also before any replys saying to use notepad that will not work. We are talking about EA here. They would not make it so easy. From what I have found it seems the .dat files are compressed of smaller files. Any help will be great.
