Isobuster does not actually "downsample" anything. It just extracts the components that make up the iso image. The rest is considerd junk and will not be missed by your ps2.

It depends on how you rebuild the game - there's a few ways to do it, take GT4 for example the videos are reduced in quality, others they cut off dummy files like you said :)
Hi dan, Yes DVD9's like that need to be downsampled to fit on DVD5 but isobuster alone wont do that. Its important to remember that converting DVD9 to DVD5 and plain old rebuilding are two different things. :)
yes true, so for chain666's info I'd say that unless your game is huge and has two layers, you wont experience any loss of qaulity through rebuilding. Sorry dan, im not trying to discredit your answer, just pointing somthing out.
if you want to get in depth about it,there are some DVD-9 games that dont need any downsampling at all,and i suppose these can be put in the "rebuilding bracket".as they just contain false lba
wasnt 50 cent one of those??
then i would say that "proper dvd-9" games,that need downsampling,are put in the "need ripping" bracket
@chain666
certain games have dummy data placed in them,so the game runs smooooooother......
it just creates the impression of there being more data,when there is not
one sure sign of knowing that the game has hidden data,is to open it in ultraiso,and this will show you the true TOC
also if you download games,and the rar files total 2gb,but you are then amazed that the extracted figure is like 4.3gb,<< these games have hidden data,as its not possible to compress an iso that much.
