I have a Nokia 1600 Vodfone (UK) PAYG phone which I have unlocked successfully. I now want to try the phone with Orange PAYG due to poor Vodafone coverage in my area.

I have bought an Orange SIM card which cost me 1UKP. The phone comes up with the message "SIM card registration failed" when I try it in the phone. I imagine this is because it hasn't been registered yet...

What I'd like to confirm before I register it (bear in mind please I'm a moble simpleton) is, because Orange require me to give them the IMEI number when I register it, will it still work with the original Vodafone SIM which still has credit on it?

Also, If I insert a SIM from another, already registered, Orange PAYG phone, would it work in this phone straight away, even though the IMEI is different?
