Okay here is my problem I have been using Bit Tornado for quite a while now, and never had a problem. After i reformatted last week, and tried downloading something recently I've been getting the yellow light on Bit Tornado, meaning something related to the firewall is blocking any connections to peers from occuring. I need IMMEDIATE assistance if possible because I would like to continue with my download without having to wait 10 years to get it.
I followed the instructions from this link and i still have problems with my downloads. At the moment i am getting no more than 10KB/S
http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksy...
Can someone please please pleease! help me figure out how to change my dreaded yellow light to a pleasant green? It would be much appreciated.
I've read over the previous threads, and nothing seems to be working for me.
I have my ports set to 6881~6899 for anyones information.
if you need anymore information about my torrent and its status, ill be glad to share, but my knowledge is somewhat limited on p2p.
And before anyone considers closing my thread, please understand that I have researched these forums for the past 5 hours looking for a solution, and have gone through one topic with more than 70 pages to find an answer.
And if the help here doesnt work for me, would switching to uTorrent be a good alternative? especially for big files up to maybe 5GBs? and would uTorrent require this annoying process of openning ports etc?

This isn't an answer, per se, because I never found out what happened. I, too, used BitTornado for over a year with no problems. Then, out of the blue, I was unable to obtain a green light. After 2 weeks of that, I switched to utorrent with a port in the 30xxx forwarded (not the default). Utorrent's built in port checker always showed my port as closed but after a few minutes, utorrent's connection light would always turn green and after a week (no changes), utorrents port checker started showing the port as open and it has remained that way, since. All I could suggest is to use a port range over 10000 for BitTornado and check your ip address in command prompt as portforward shows mine incorrectly. It's personal preference which client to use. I have never used it and I have heard Azureus is good but heavy on resources. Personally, I would go with utorrent and, yes, port forwarding will be necessary but only for a single port.

Click the first link in my signature, the PDF there should help you, complete with pics.
If that doesn't help, browse my site, there's a 13 page tutorial there full of ways to speed up your downloads.
I would attempt to give you a more thorough answer here, but since you can't be bothered to wait more than 2 hours for an answer, I'm not going to go out of my way to help you.
For a completely casual user, tornado is better, however, I recommend uTorrent until you become rad, then Azureus. ;-)

No prob bob.
I understand the frustration. I finally got pissed off enough at an errant driver last night that I just wiped my whole system...I remembered to back up everything EXCEPT my bookmarks. Nothin like starting a 2am reformatting when ya gotta be at work by 8.
And...please do refer people to the bible...the other tutorial there might help you speed it up even more, it's in the p2p tutorials section on the site.
