Here is a link to TES Oblivion web site:

http://www.elderscrolls.com/games/oblivion_faq.htm

The "Supported Video Card Chipsets" list does not mention your card. Very well could be a problem. You could try updating drivers for your card. Try updating your sound card drivers, too. Do you have DX 9.0c installed? Check the requirements closely. System, RAM, Processor. All of it.

Games can be very picky. If you do not meet the requirements, performance may be poor or not at all.

how often does it freeze? My computer can play oblivion on max settings but it still frezes occasionaly. The patch helped reduce that alot. Did you try downloading the patch? You could also try something called oldblivion. you can get it on tessource.com. Its a package that lets you play oblivion on computers that dont meet the requirements. may I ask what processor and ram you have?

Hi again.

The link that I listed previously has a "Download" button on the page. It will go to the Patch downloads area from the mfgr.

I have not played this game (not an RPG fan) and don't know about something called "oldblivion". It might help if you can find it. Still, your nVidia 7300GT card is not on the supported list.

I am sticking by the supported chipsets per the manufacturer list. Don't know who "system requirements lab" might be, but the mfgr should know best what is or is not supported. This lab's opinion might not be so perfect.

You said "downloaded oblivion" - was that a download from the mfgr or some other non-retail site? You just can't expect the same reliability and performance if this game did not come from the manufacturer.

They are not going to offer support if your copy is not legit (no offense intended). If it is a good copy, try contacting them. Never had an update patch to fail installation on a retail game.
