Okay guys i am lost and i think only you can help.

I have a GA-K8N-SLI motherboard and i am using Toshiba-Samsung 360 Auto Flasher v1.1. Which is compatible with Nforce4 chipsets.
http://www.giga-byte.com/Products/Motherboard/Products_Spec.aspx?...

I disconnected/disabled all the ide cables from the motherboard/bios. leaving only the Samsung 360 drive connected to my Sata master drive 01. For a few hours i kept getting the "port 9f0 master/slave a0" error when trying to back up and patch the drive's original firmware even though my motherboard detects the drive.

After about 2 hours it finally reads it and backs it up as well as patching it with the extreme firmware but, when it come to writing the patch firmware to the drive it keeps stalling and giving me errors like:

"port 9f0 master/slave ao"

"flash type sst (sst39sf020)

err: fail to open input file"

As it is giving me these errors the 360 led light is blinking as if there is some communication going on but it doesn't flash. I don't understand this surely if it read the original firmware it should also be able to write to it. I've been trying for 3 days now.

I have checked my orig.bin file using kdx and the firmware is fine it's 256kb in size and isn't full of FF's.

If anyone has this same motherboard and was able to flash their samsung drive please tell me the bios settings you used or give me a step by step guide. Also if any of the experts know what the error messages mean and know what i am doing incorrectly please fill me in.

Thanks in advance.

don't use kdx. or any auto flasher. i dont trust em, but firstly, the problem is with mtkflash... you have to edit it to your setup.... send me a screenshot of run>cmd>"msinfo32.exe" then navigate to components>storage>SCSI and send me a screenshot of that to my email.. i'll edit the mtk and send you it, then tell you how to flash it sucessfully.
I'll pm you my email address.

ronnie101 pointed out the problem was a incorrect command line in Nforce4\B.bat the line "mtkflash w m xtreme.bin" should actually be "mtkflash w /m xtreme.bin".

I edited the command and it's working like a charm.
