I am planning to go from amd to intel, upgrading my Athlon 64bit 3200+ to the Intel Conroe E6600, when it is released. Now I found a motherboard that should be compatible with the new proc and seems to be compatible with my RAM/Video card too.

Can you guys take a look real quick and see if it should all work properly together, meaning mainly just the RAM, I've heard some bad things about intel and pc3200 RAM...

FIRST, here is the motherboard I am going to be getting

Video Card: AGP NVidia 6800 Ultra

RAM: OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM

DDR400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered DualChannel

Processor to be replaced: AMD Athlon 64bit 3200+

Motherboard to be replaced: SOLTEK SL-K8TPro-939 Socket 939 VIA

K8T800 Pro ATX

NO AGP!! !
i understand that is what you have now, but dont get it, get a PCIe motherboard.. but other than that.. mehh..
AGP is half the speed of PCIe

if you absolutly MUST keep your GPU and ram, I suggest you keep your mobo and get an x2 4800 once conroe comes out as it will drop to $300. If you want conroe, you would be best getting a pci-e motherboard that supports SLI and upgrading you proccesor ram and graphhics card but then you might just be better off getting a whole new computer.

whatever.. if you go with the duel core 3800 that is going to drop down to 170 and over clock it, you will have more money to do what yo u want with the extra cache you will save.. plus.. conroe is not necessarily all it is cracked up to be..

Or ya know I could get the AMD Athlon 5000+ x2, and still not be as good as this.
