Hi peeps, I want to buy a 360 but need to ask a few questions first: -
1. I presume I can rip audio cd's to the HD of the 360, but is there anyway I can get them music files back off it at a later date? (Without mod's chips etc)
2. Can I hook the 360 up to my PC to send mpeg's etc across to it?
Cheer for anyone and everyone's help.

1. dont think its possible
2. yeah u can network ur 360 to a normal xp pc and stream music an pics, but to stream video u will need a media center pc

Mate, thanks for that. If you can stream music using xp can you not save the music files to?

Sorry, what I meant was if I can stream the music from my xbox 360 throguh my PC, can I not save the files on my PC???

You can stream music from your PC without a Media center PC?? I didn't know this. I am gonna have to check this out

Yes you can stream music without a media center pc. It is pretty simple.

you can not save music/pics to your 360 from a pc. mediacentre or not. but you can stream music/pics w/ just Windows XP and to stream video you need Media Centre Edition.

I can't for the life of me stream music or video. I have bridged my wireless PC to my 360 hardwired and it tells me it cannot connect to my PC. I am running WMC 2005 and I have connected to my 360 but it still will not let me stream??
Maybe its sooo simple Im just looking to hard.

I have never tried to hardwire the xbox to the pc but I have done it through a wireless network.
Did you download the program for your pc?

yes I have. it (the device) allows or recognizes the Xbox but when I try to connect from the Xbox to PC it doesn't see it.

hmm. Well I havent had mine connected to my pc in a while so im going to give it a try and i'll let you know if it's as easy as I think it is.

Alright you guys, I have a question of my own
I don't have an xbox 360 yet but now Ive sort of come to a fork in the road. I cant decide whether to get an xbox 360 or wait and get a PS3. I just so happen to be a fan of both Sony and Microsoft and I own a PS2 and an xbox. Ill probably end up getting a 360 and PS3 in the future but which should I get first?

I would get a 360 now and a PS3 later. The reason is I don't have much doubt that the PS3 is going to better in the long run but your looking at atleast another year or 2 befor that happens. When the second round of games come out and developers start to know what they are doing. Till then, the 360 will be the better choice

Never mind I got it going. My firewall was blacking the PC or Xbox from connecting to eachother.
