Hey I was just wondering about the life of my Plasma... i just got a new Dell Plasma TV and it says the lifetime of it 60 000 hours... at half brightness anyways. But I hear that if you play video games it'll shorten the televisions lifespan... is this true?

Also what about connecting your PC to the Plasma? It has a VGA input, so im wondering if it'll run down the lifespan as well.

Thanks.

depends how long you play at a time, but yea it can cause burn in which would shorten your tvs lifespan but if you dont leave the game paused for along time and leave still images on the screen for long periods of time you shouldnt have anything to worry about....other people might tell you that burn in is a big issue with plasmas but i mean i just played call of duty 2 for 360 for 9 hours and i dont notice anything. so yes you do kinda have to worry about burn in but i dont think its bad, just go by what i said before and you should be fine, btw if you didnt know burn in is when a image is frozen into the screen from a still image being displayed on the screen for too long, this also includes the little tv stations logos in the corners of the screen. but as far as actually shorting the lifespan of your tv by burning more plasma gas when playing video games or using the vga input that is false. if you have any questions let me know becuase im tired and dont know if that post made any since or not lol
