I have a G4 Powerbook Titanium 15". It is a great computer. I have a 60mghd, 550mhz processor and 512mb ram.

I have 10.4.7 OSX.

The computer has been working great. The other day i received notice of software update and decided to do the update which included an OSX update.

After i restarted my computer and since then it seems to take the computer an extra amount of time for the processor to open even the simplist of programs.

DOES ANYONE HAVE A SUGGESTION AS TOO WHY MY PROCESSOR SEEMS TO BE TAKING MORE TIME.

Best,

Gordon

how much space is left on the HD? you said its a "60MGHD" i'm guessing you mean 60GB HD. it may be that with all the stuff that was downloaded, there is little or close to no space left on it. try clearing some of that out.
it is a 550mhz machine.. the new updates may need more power..
just my thoughts..

Hey, thanks for getting back to me. Yes, it is a 60gb HD and there is about 30gb left.
Perhaps you are right. it is an older powerbook and the 550 processor may not be good enough for the new updates.
Again i thank you for your thoughts.

not only that.. you may want to move some stuff over to an external HD if possible.. you can find a good one for not too much..
i do however recommend the LaCie drives.. work great with Macs.
