I'm trying to make a copy of a movie I purchased, The Detonator a sony release. I made a copy using DVD43 and DVD-cloner III the lastest versions of both. When I go to play the movie on any dvd player it plays but the picture has distortion. I burned the movie at a slow speed of 4x I would appreciate any help any one could give me. Thanks

I used that DVD-cloner III a long time ago. As the newer movies come out, especially Sony with its ARccOS encryption, the two programs you are using will not suffice.

There are a lot of free programs to get so that you can create backups without too much of a problem.

1) To decrypt your DVD
DVDFab Decrypter may be found here:
DVDIdle.com/free.htm

2) To blank out unwanted material (very useful but be sure to read some guides on using it. It seems difficult at first, but soon you will master it. The key is to WATCH what you have blanked before you shrink!)

3) To shrink your movie to fit on a DVD-5

If you get used to VobBlanker then you do not need PgcEdit, however, if you would like it you can find it in the software of this site.

If you do not have Nero then you may want to install the following for burning. ImgTool to set the image before it may be burned: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/imgtoo... And ImgBurn to burn after the image is ready: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/imgburn.cfm

If you would be interested in spending a little money for a program that many on this forum find useful you may get a 20 day free trial of AnyDVD. You may find that at slysoft.com. This particular program is updated regularly and breaks decryption and can rip your DVD to your HD if you desire.
